No Help from Lawyer

Hello Sir / Madam, I am currently thinking to change my lawyer as the person is not interested or of no help in my current case (cheque bounce) He neither appears for court sessions, nor keeps me informed on his absence. He also does not inform me about any procedures or laws or what are the next steps to proceed with but is keen on asking money for his services which is basically nothing - no paper filings, no efforts to track accused, no efforts to talk in front of judge when he appears (he just takes further hearing dates when he comes to court). His non appearance in court has dragged the case to 2.5 years till date - 13.02.2025. Opponents also just file petitions and ask time and my lawyer does not argue or ask or talk anything in the court. He just keeps quite and my oppositions get time. Now i want an NOC from him but worried he will ask me a fee amount for his services (which is actually nothing). Please ay advice on what can be done to get a NOC without paying fee / cash to the lawyer ? Thanks in advance
