Mutual consent divorce

My uncle had been married for over 10 years, and could not earn much but was never violent with his wife and loved his two kids unconditionally. He tried a lot to earn more but with his limited educational background, he couldn’t earn much to satisfy her materialistic demands, because of which he tried betting to get money, which failed miserably. There was no pressure of dowry. There were just some quarrels between the mother in law and her. 5 years back, they got divorced by mutual consent, for which my uncle agreed without any issue as he was not educated enough on the topic. She did not ask for any alimony or such, just took the kids and went off to Dubai. A year back, an auspicious occasion was taking place, so my mom wanted to reconcile and meet with her and the kids, as my mom really supported her throughout her journey. That is when she accepted to let the children meet with the demand that 30000 should go to her monthly. My mom, thinking, her brother will finally get to meet his lovely kids, agreed. But little did we know, our business went downhill and we were suffering. That is when my mother told her our situation and asked her if it is okay to not pay for a few months, and that she will start paying as soon as situation gets better, for which she said yes, but just after not even a month, she told mom that she needs the money and filed a petition. She lives in Dubai, and takes a trip , twice a year to meet her children in India and recently even took her daughter with her to make her study in Dubai. According to us, her situation rather looks very luxurious. She also had an affair, but we had no proof and also did not want her to go through such humiliation and cause an issue. We wanted to know if there’s a way we can stop or reduce the payment amount. Please help us out. Thank you
