Inquiry Regarding Repair/Replacement of Free Item with Purchase

Dear Advisors, I bought an air conditioner from Tata's Croma, and as part of the deal, a BLDC fan was provided for free. Unfortunately, the fan stopped working within just two days. Upon contacting customer service, I was informed that they neither repair nor replace free items, and I would have to resolve the issue on my own. The free fan was one of the key reasons I bought that expensive AC since we did not want to otherwise buy such expensive AC To add to the concern, the fan uses a new technology that local technicians are unable to repair, making it a unique and difficult situation. I feel this practice of denying repairs or replacements for free items may be misleading or even fraudulent, and I suspect this is happening with many other consumers across the country. Being a marketing student, I know that nothing ever comes free of charge. The fans MRP (3k something, as seen online) I do understand is included in the AC's MRP, a fact which the store will never accept. I would like to understand what legal actions or consumer protection laws apply to such situations. Can I hold the company accountable for the malfunctioning fan, and are there any legal grounds to challenge their refusal to repair or replace a free item? Additionally, I’m concerned this might be a broader issue and would appreciate any advice on how to proceed with this matter. I am ready to go any extent with this case. It is not just about the money. It's about a company making a fool out of people. Thank you for your time and guidance. I look forward to your insights.
