Taking care of Ageing parents and rights in property

My maternal grandparents are above 85years of age. They have 4 children (3 sons & 1 daughter). None of the son is ready to take care of them so they have asked my mother to take that responsibility. My parents are from middle class strata. I am their only child(daughter) and married. My father is retired and they are surviving on their savings. Mother has always been a house wife. Maternal uncles are in much better position financially. My grandfather has a shop which is run by eldest uncle and his sons. There is one flat in the name of my grandmother. They (uncles) want to divide all that equally among 4 children. I am worried.. if my parents take over the responsibility of my grandparents then there will financial strain on them because of medical expenses of grandparents. And we can't be dependent on the uncles that they will pay regular maintenance. What steps should be taken legally? And what can be the consequences.. please if someone can help me here. My grandparents stay in Ahemdabad (Gujarat) We are Jain by religion.
