Can I take legal action against my neighbour who is not letting me find my cat trapped in her premises.
My housecat who accidentally ran away from my home, has been roaming on my next door neighbor's terrace since last night and crying. Upon noticing this, we tried to knock on the neighbour's door but they didn't open their door ar night. In the morning, when we saw one of the family members of the house, we explained our situation hoping that they would let us go to their terrace to retrieve our cat but they were unwilling to let us in at all. We saw that our cat had changed her position and had climbed their mango tree, from which she must have got into their terrace. She is crying and is unable to come down and going to and forth from the terrace to a tree branch. Even after letting them know our ordeal, they didn't let us stay in the garden to keep on attempting to retrieve our cat nor did they let us go to their terrace. They even threatened us that if we planned to stay in their garden for too long (one of the members gave us permission to enter their garden but they said we were trespassing), they would call the police. Can I take legal action against the neighbour who is not letting me retrieve my cat?
