Reconciliation with wife in police presence went wrong

I got married 5 years before in my community, it was an Hindu arranged marriage. She left me after 1 and half month of living together. after many failed attempt to call her back by phone and through relatives and one legal notice of section 9 through lawyer. Recently, As per advocate advice, I submitted a application to SP office. After submission , police called me in thana and took mine full statement, and asked me to reach wife's home accompanied by them. So me and 2 of mine cousins went their home with 2 of police men. After reaching their, they were shocked seeing us with police person. they called their lawyer brother-in-law. In between police tried to counsel them. But as soon their lawyer Jija arrived , he started arguing with police on their arrival said how can they reach without any case registered complain or a FIR. police said, they just came for counselling and for the bride statement. He continued to argue and asked police to leave. Though he dramatized to be nice with us and asked to sit and discuss with the parents and left. During a long discussion of 2-3 hours they just played blaming game and indirectly threaten us for dowry and non returning streedhan. We insisting them to call my wife for a face to face discussion, but they kept on avoiding and said, she will be called here wait. they did not misbehaved with us directly but not ready for any positive discussion. Sometimes they blamed me wrongly, which i countered on their face. My both cousin were vary humble to them and asking for Reconciliation , but they were just putting up wrong blames such as 42000rs transfer to my account from their JIja account5 years before, and non returning full of streedhan and blamed my younger sister, that she took streedhan from her, which we did not accept. Because mine parents are no more and my elder brother is non cooperative, i took mine cousin sister with me, they kept questioned on my cousins involvement like, who are they to discuss this all. Meantime, we both were recording the discussion. Now mine lawyer asked me to share one more application with SP office, mentioning that they are putting up wrong allegations on us, misbehaved with us, and not allowed a meet-up with wife. What should be my next step, please guide.
