Dowry case

My name is Noor. We went up to see a girl for my brother on February 7, 2024, and we liked her. We finalized the match by giving her a gold ring weighing 5 grams, silver anklets, and 50 thousand rupees. Later, on March 7, 2024, 10-15 people from the girl's side came to our house for the engagement ceremony. During the ceremony, we gave the girl 2.5 tola gold necklace and earrings, 10 tola silver anklets, a silver ring, 10 sets of clothes, and 1 lakh rupees in cash along with some other items. In return, the girl's family gave my brother around 3 lakh rupees. After the engagement, we found out that the girl's family and the girl had lied to us. They had told us that the girl was a graduate, but she hadn't even passed 10th grade. The girl also didn't seem interested in the marriage; she neither talked to my brother on the phone nor on WhatsApp, and she never met him. After discovering all this, when we talked about breaking off the engagement, they started offering us dowry to proceed with the marriage. My parents refused, saying we didn't want to proceed with the match and asked them to take back the money they had given us and return the money and gold we had given them. They then started threatening us with filing dowry and rape cases. On May 20, 2024, the girl's family came to my brother's workplace and threatened my brother and father, saying that they should proceed with the marriage or face jail. They even physically attacked my brother and father. Now, they have filed a complaint against my brother, my mother, my father, and some relatives (with whom we haven't been in contact for years). They want us to give them 5 lakh rupees and not take back the money, jewelry, and clothes we had given them.We do not want to leave a single rupee with these deceitful people.
