Accident

I was driving my car at normal speed from office back to home. On a 100 ft broad road (with no divider), a 2 wheeler suddenly came & hit my driver side with full force. For a few moments, I was under shock that how could it happen. My front bonet, bumper, side bonet got severly damaged & front glass broken from center. Since, I was driving at normal speed wearing seat belt, did not get injured, but could not come out of my car on my own due to the damage on driver side. Meanwhile people gathered & put the 2w rider to auto for hospitalization & then someone opened my car gate & I cam outside. People present on the spot told me that I need to scare as it was the 2w rider's fault who was driving in very high speed & suddenly came in front of my car. Meanwhile, police constable arrived at the scene & asked me to file FIR against the bike rider for rash driving & provided FIR copy to me with section mentioned as 279 against the 2w rider. Please advise, whether I did right by filing FIR & what should be further course of action.
