Date of Birth Correction in Indian Passport

Dear Sir/Madam, My name is Azim Naik. I am an IT professional. I am looking for a piece of Legal advice on the subject matter. My wife Nafisa Begum had a passport with which DOB mentioned 11/11/1986. The actual DOB as per the Govt birth Certificate as mentioned is 11/11/1988. When the Passport was issued to her she was not a minor and was at age 20. The passport Issue date is 28/8/2008 and the expiry date is 27/08/2018. Issuing City Bengaluru, Karnataka. When Passport was issued to her she was not married. My wife told me that the third-party agent who made an effort to make this passport is no more in this world. he had consulted the City Civil Court Mayo Hall MG Road Bengaluru to make an affidavit and based on the affidavit document passport seva Kendra issued a passport to my wife No other govt document including a birth certificate produced to passport Seva Kendra as per my wife. And she had already travelled out of the country once on the same passport. Now the passport is expired and I want to renew the passport of my wife. I have been asked by the Passport Seva Kendra Bengaluru Information desk to submit an original Birth Certificate along with a School mark sheet showing the correct date of birth along with a Civil court order from the Magistrate. Other than the passport she had all other Govt. Document with the correct date of birth mentioned. I have consulted one of the advocates for legal advice on the above subject matter in our area who asked me for 50k charges for filing a court case and legal charges. Please provide me with your expert guidance/advice on how to proceed on this matter. Regards, Azim.
