Minor hit and run case

A 15-year-old girl, Aafiya Mehtab died after a BBMP garbage truck ran over her on Sunday. The incident took place at 6.45am, on Mosque Road, Pulikeshi Nagar: Mehtab, the daughter of a bookstall owner was learning to ride a two-wheeler when a garbage truck hit her from behind making her lose balance. She fell as the truck ran over her head leading to her death on the spot. Her body was taken to Bowring Hospital for autopsy. The truck was seized by the police but the accused, the truck driver Nagaraju is yet to be nabbed. Mehtab's maternal uncle Mohammad Yasin Pasha, told Salar news "Doctors told us that her head was crushed into pieces and the driver did not stop. Her father is hospital-ised after receiving • the news. I want my girl to get justice." Zohaib Khan, a member of the Islamic Information Centre an NGO, told Salar News, "It is a very narrow road for heavy vehicles. BBMP should take strict action against the driver: We have all the video proofs needed against the driver:" He alleged that there had been no action against the driver yet.
