Sex trafficking case - How likely to get caught

Hi, A few months ago, I messaged an escort service asking for their service. They replied back with a few pictures of girls saying available. They then asked me to come to this area to avail the service and then asked for an early payment. I made no payment, neither visited the aforementioned location they had asked to visit. Then a few days before a police official contacted me saying that the person i had contacted was arrested for human trafficking and the arrested person had my number and chat on their phone and was claiming me as their friend. The police official said this could lead to a criminal case against me and said it could go away if i paid 20000, saying he would provide me with a receipt for it. After consulting a police official we knew he said that it most probably is a fake. I blocked the number from which i received the call and then today he has called me again! I just want to know that if this is a criminal offence or not and whether i can be arrested or not? Please help me out!!
