Absconding threat from Job

Hi, I was working with one large mnc in North from last 2 years...I resigned there in Sep but after several rounds of discussion I stayed back. Now in Dec there was a plan to chnage the compnay structure and I have been transferred to Kolkata without any consent. I have some difficult family situations and I was not able to move to kolkata so I searched a job here in North and requested my manager to receive me. New employer was asking me to join immediately. I had no choice than to put the resignation over email and leave the job on next day. I have submitted all compnay assets and got confirmation from concerned departments as well. Now HR is threatening me to abscond...I have reverted them with complete story and asked that I am ready to pay notice amount but they are asking to come back office for few days and complete the handover then only they will receive me and share the letter. The major catch is that my role will seize to exit from 1st Jan as per new structure so there is no need for any handover but I can sense that it's only a tactic to mentally harass me.
