Regarding absconding/leaving of an employee from company without serving notice period
Hello,
I had joined company X and worked there for one month and after that I had resigned. I discussed with manager regarding early release since I was not willing to work there, reason behind are; I didn't like the culture, the transportation problems(before joining HR told there will be cab service home pickup/drop but the pickup/drop point was already 4km from my home), and lastly my health issues. Also it was compulsory to go office 3 days a week in any situation.
But manager declined my early release request mentioning that the I need to serve 3 months notice period(which I couldn't). So then I decided to quit the job immediately, so I sent an email(after 15days of resignation) to Manager & my hiring HR mentioning that I will not be able to work henceforth because of my health issue and i was unable maintain my work life balance. And submitted all asset(laptop, id card etc) to company.
I didn't received any response to above email but after that I received salary for next 2 months.
Then Few days later got an email from Team mentioning that I was not present since many days and to join back as soon as possible or they will take some disciplinary action against me(I received 2-3 warnings email such). Then Lastly I received email saying they have terminated me from employment.
But now company has sent me settlement letter mention some amount(2+lacs) and asked me pay it for full and final settlement. This amount consists of bonus + notice period recovery amount + salary credited to me.
And yesterday I received one legal notice from advocate on behalf of company mentioning the same to pay the amount and submit company asset(which was already submitted)
I don't know how to proceed further. Please tell me the solution. I don't need any experience letter from them.
