Salary issue

So I know I might actually be in wrong here but still I have to be sure that I completely am. So I was hired by a company as BD Intern for 3 months and as per the contract I was also informed that my I am eligible for stipend of 25000 with regards to reaching targets as per the company policies. These are the exact terms used in the contracts. Now after almost a month I realized that this job is not for me, mostly because I did not reach target although according to my Manager my performance was fine and most importantly I took a lot of days off and work from homes, although as is policy i did inform about this in the mail. But still i wasn't really the best employee. Anyway so I talked to HR 4 days before the end of that month that i am planning to leave after this month and put in my notice and would like to know how much salary i will get for this month she said i will not be getting a single dime and infact they were thinking of terminating me and immediately following the call i received the termination mail. Now let me clear few more things, the job entailed two pard lead generation and sales conversion. I did the lead generation but not a single conversion and the target was based on that conversion so like are They allowed to pay me nothing or can i contest them in anyway? It's not about the money, never was but i need some kind of leverage over them for something else. so advices??
