Broker is harassing me and have filed a fault police complaint against me

Hi Sir / Mam, I was searching for rental flat in June month and somehow my no.was shared to the broker and he contacted me stating that he has good apartment and the owner wants to give it to the girl. I went and checked the flat and discussed about the Rent and Deposit which turned out to be out of budget so I denied to owner and broker clearly over call and message. Also, the owner decided to not give it on rent as they were traveling out of India in 2 weeks. While searching the property in the same area, I got the no. of the owner from my relative which to my surprise was same flat and the owner turned out to be my distant cousin. So they decided to give it me as a caretaker on nominal rent and we signed agreement(for their and my peace of mind). They told the same to the society and builder. Now, after a month the broker got to know about me staying in same flat and started calling me and texting me saying that I will have to pay the brokerage which I tried to explain to him but he didn't understand it. Today morning, I got the call from police station stating I will have to show up to the station be it 9 pm as complaint is filed against me. What should I do?
