Harrasment by Ad-hoc committee

We are a senior citizen couple residing in a CHS which is managed by an Ad-hoc committee. They refuse to hold elections and are in position for almost two years since handover from builder. They regularly demand money from members on some pretext or another. They took over from the builder in October 2021 and in January 2023 i.e. in 18 months of handover they increased the maintenance amount by Rs. 1.00 per sqft. (Can they legally do that?) Just 5 months after this increase they announced a shortfall of Rs. 15,00,000/- (fifteen lacs). If the members refuse to pay, they claim there is no money to pay for tanker water hence will cut water supply. They also refuse to display their books of accounts. As my wife and I have been repeatedly raising questions, we are targeted. We are being defamed in the society and been levied with unjustified fines and charges. They refuse to respond to any of our emails. They don't even provide us with monthly maintenance bills. They want us to use their app but we are not tech savvy. We are frustrated with the harrasment. What do we do?
