Should companies mention leave of absence dates in the employee Releiving letter asa standard letter
Dear team,
I need your advise, if Employer/company/HR should mention Leave of absence (unpaid leave) details in the employees relieving letter as a standard practice?
how relevant it is to mention unpaid leave details in an employee relieving letter who has served the company for more than 2 years and if he /she has taken unpaid leave due to some medical /personal issues as this is granted by the company as a benefit and mentioned in the company's policy and allowing employee to take Unpaid leave with approval in place.
Taking unpaid leave is considered as a break in service in an organisation?
if we mention the same in their Relieving letter, will this not be against the employment/labour law?
My second question is, can the LOA be mentioned in special/exception cases? like someone joined the company in Jan 2023 and going on LOA in Feb 2023 for 6-8 months and then come back and resign ? in this case employee has not worked in the org even for a month.
Please advise?
Thank you
Swetha
