RTE TC (Right to education_transfer certificate) primary school_Rajasthan
I admitted my son to a new school in April in Jodhpur, Rajasthan and while taking admission, they said "we will give admission without TC also" (said verbally). However, in the pamphlet, there was a list of required documents, which included one item, called "Transfer certificate". However, now in July, I received a WA message from the school staff/faculty asking two documents - "TC" and "RTE TC (Right to Education TC)" from the old school. While we have submitted a copy of the TC and we can also submit the original TC issued by the old school, we were not issued "RTE portal TC" by the old school. Both schools are within same locality in Jodhpur. We contacted both schools, following are their responses/queries:
1) Old School: TC from RTE portal is issued to those students who are covered under compulsory 25% quota of disadvantaged. To clarify, I do not belong to that group and I am paying full fees. My ITR and income is way above the threshold.
2) New School: When we conveyed old school argument to the new school, they said that TC from RTE portal is required for all new students. This is a new directive. When I asked that this was not asked by you while taking admission, she said "TC" written in admission pamphlet meant RTE TC only and the current TC given by old school on their letter pad is not valid. Then, I gave a counter-argument that if this is so then why is school insisting on two documents - TC (which is invalid according to them) and RTE TC. They should ask for RTE TC only. To this they said, they need both.
New School has also sent a WA message to all students asking for TC as well as TC from RTE portal. Kindly not "as well as". It is not "OR".
Kindly advise in this matter.
