Disability Reservation
I am suffering from Sickle Cell Disease (blood disorder) and having 40% benchmark for Disability Certificate and UDID card, included under the Reenactment of People with Disability (RPwD) Act, 2016 and therefore eligible for reservation.
But still when I applied for the well reputed SSC government exams, there was no information about it. The registration typically said:-
VH: Blindness and low vision.
HH: Deaf and hard of hearing.
OH: Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy.
Others: Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness, multiple disabilities from amongst persons under the above mentioned clauses including deaf-blindness.
No mention of Sickle Cell Disease. In the 'Others' section it is all about multiple disabilities from the previous OH( Orthopedically Handicapped), VH( Visually Handicapped ), HH( Hearing Handicapped ) sections, from which I have none. I am only suffering from Sickle Cell Disease.
I also have Disability Certificate and UDID card with the required 40% benchmark for availing benefits under the RPwD act, 2016.
I contacted the regional office and they said no category of such exists and I have to apply in Unreserved (UR) category.
Please advise me what to do.
