Pre-owned Car Dealership - I was Sold a Car with tampered Odometer
I bought a used premium Hatchback about a year back.
Dealership/First owner hid serious issues with car, some of them were fixed by me and some of them are pending. As per dealership, they are saying that we are selling the car as is we have not done anything extra. Which is hard to buy, since they know everything around happening here and have been in the same profession for a while.
I have invested money in repairs but now my concern is if there is any underlying safety issue which may cause harm to me or anyone traveling any in the vehicle.
I am not a car expert and only later found out that it had -
1. Some of the car panels were repainted by the previous owner(as told to me).
2. Real ODO reading was ~96000 whereas they tampered the ODO reading to show ~28000. Found this out when took car history from company during a service.
3. Many of the parts were repaired, which I found out during a repair work I got done recently.
The history maintained with the company proves that they tampered with the ODO meter and sold me the car showing wrong ODO reading.
What legal action/remedy options are available?
