Ipc 279

Hi, I was driving on highway on Saturday in evening around 5 PM. I saw a petrol pump which was opposite side of the highway and there was a cut in divider few meters before petrol pump. I have turned my car to the opposite side of the road through that cut and then turn my car towards petrol pump (this is where I entered on wrong side of the road). As soon as I took a turn on opposite side of highway, police caught me and showed images of my car showing you have pass through divider and then took a wrong turn to go to petrol pump (as there wasn't any service road). They booked me under IPC 279 and asked me to pledge guilty in court. My questions are. 1. Since I am in software industry, I need to change my companies every few years and when ever I join new company they will carry background check. What effect this case would cause on my hiring if I pledge guilty. 2. Since they just caught me while turning and has few photos which shows I was driving on the wrong side of the road. How can I defend myself to get acquittal from court.
