Absconded from reputed company after 3 days of joining
Greetings,
I am an IT engineer and in Feb, 2022 i was searching for an opportunity so I have given many interviews during my job hunting period. In 2nd week of feb,2022 I got offer from a reputed MNC say Company A and there were other discussions going in in parallel from other Companies . To secure my job and good offer from Company A I joined Company A in last week of Feb, 2022, I was happy to join there. But after two days I joined Company A I got another offer from a start up paying little more( in terms of salary structure) with good opportunity of work.
I was in trouble to decide what to do as I never had chance to work with Start up i wanted to take this opportunity favouribly. So I talked to the manager and HR of Company A, I had requested them to relieve me early (in a week or two) but manager did no agree and he asked me to serve 3 months of Notice period which is not possible from my side. I have talked to Manager twice and requested to release me as it was only 3rd day in Company A. But manager did not agree on early release and he asked me to serve 3 months of Notice period, I was ready to serve but Company B was not ready to accept after three months; the offer was for immediate joinee. As I desire to work in Start up I thought of absconding and 4th day I did not appear in Company A as it was work from for temporarily and I was in my hometown. Since its been 3 days in Company A i have not received any assets from A hence I did not have to give back anything to them. After that HR from A is sending emails of resignation and completing exit formalities but since i have absconded I have not replied to them. In Jun 2022 they have send me mail regarding F&F recovery of 2.5lac and asking me to credit in Company A's current account which is legit, I have not replied on that. Now 1 week back I have got another mail stating to pay F&F recovery amount 2.5LCS from Legal and Compliance team of A. Now I am worrying that upto how long they will stretch this thing.
Can someone please helps/suggest to decide what action I could take ? How to avoid paying such a big amount ? Will that be any issue on my career ? Can they contact my current Company HR and create problem for me ? If there is no way how do we negotiate that amount or is it possible to negotiate ?
Post that incident I have already switched to other MNC.
