Name issue

My surname is D'Mello. Over the years I have wrote my name differently. In my matriculation and 12 th certificate I wrote my surname as D Mello as I was told that apostrophe is not accepted. This was back in 2009 when I gave my board exams. In my graduation and postgraduate marksheets I used the same name with D Mello surname. But certain places like my degree certificate for graduation I have used my father's middle name with D Mello (surname) and in my post grad degree used my fathers name as middle name with D'Mello as surname. In pan card i have used first name + middle name (dads name) + DMello. In aadhar card it is first name + Dmello. I am not sure if I should put First name + D'Mello as my real name for future reference as apostrophe may not be accepted by some and I would still be in the soup. Also My birth certificate only has my first name and my fathers full name is given on it. Would it mean that the surname of my father would be mine by default. Only My passport has my real name with D'Mello. I may have to go for document verification in the future as I am also preparing for govt exams. What must I do?
