My landlord refuses to interfere to get my deposit back
I had rented a house in Gachibowli, Hyderabad and moved in on June 10 2022. My owner is living in London. The lease period was 6 months and I had given one month written notice to the owner as mentioned in the agreement. We are three girls living in 1 room each of a 3BHK. The rent splitted by each of us is based on room size etc. I am residing in a smaller room hence I'm paying lesser share of rent. But the security deposit amount is split equally amongst us.
The other two girls had moved in much earlier and had already paid the deposit of the entire house to the owner. So when I moved in, I had to send my share to one of them. That's how we were splitting rent as well. One of us will pay the entire rent amount to the owner and the rest will send their share to the person who sent the entire amount.
When I gave the notice to owner, she mentioned she will send someone to see the house and I requested her to be the neutral party to interfere in this matter. At that time she said yes. Now since I'm almost going to vacate, I had asked her to send the person to see the house as discussed earlier. Now she's refusing to send anyone.
My roommates are not in town and they are mentioning that they can't give the deposit back until they find a replacement of me. I already had internal issues with them where they will make me pay extra for things and not tell me anything in advance. I don't trust them to be reasonable in figuring out how much deduction has to be made, since they have always tried to ambush me into paying more for internal house expenses ( they'll hire a maid and won't tell me timings or charges but make me pay for the maid as well even when she has not cleaned my room etc)
I took the issue to the owner, owner who agreed to send a neutral party is now washing hands saying she can't send anyone. She is also saying I never paid the deposit to her, I paid the deposit to my roommates so I have to sort it with her
In the lease, it's clearly mentioned that licensor has to give the money back to the licencee upon vacating the premises after paying all dues and whatever deduction is reasonable. But there's no way to figure out the deduction before I move out and she just said I have to sort this out with roommates. How do I proceed here
