I hit a person riding a bicycle.

Okay so I will explain the whole situation from the beginning. I am Underage (17) I was in my car driving alone it was raining heavily , i approached an uncontrolled intersection with no lights and no stop signs I was driving very slow (20-25km/h) at max there were no lights on the intersection suddenly a bicycle came right infront of me from my right side i applied the brakes there was a person on the bicycle ( he was heavily drunk) he had his child on the front bar of the cycle , i managed to break in time both of them were sound no injuries nothing they didn't even fell off the cycle , i parked my car to the left and went to see the damages as I was in a car I didn't bother to check my car I took a loot at his bicycle his pedal was bent ( could be easily repaired on the spot , which he did when I left) i apologized for my mistake by the way there were no reflectors on his bicycle I was able to see him only when he came directly infront of my front bumper , he straight away asked for 1000rs to fix his bicycle , i told him that it won't cost more than 200 to even replace the pedal he insisted to get 700rs at the bare minimum, i told him that my house is very close he can park his car at my house and I will get it fixed and delivered to his house by tomorrow and I would even drop them to their house at the moment, he instantly asked for 300rs i showed him my purse it had a 500rs note and 2 100rs notes he asked for 200rs i gave him the money and apologized, then I left within 2 mins i reached my house i wanted to check if there was any damage to my car to my surprise the number plate was missing I went back to the intersection, he was gone i tried to look for the plate it was missing as well , i got home told my parents that the plate fell off and I didn't know when , now the current time is 11:49pm i can't sleep, I am worried about the plate maybe he took the plate to register a FIR against my father (the car is registered on his name) . I need assurance or some advice for my future incidents if similar things happen to me .
