ITR revised (income reduced) after obtaining EWS certificate. Will there be any problem?
I have given ITRs of 3 persons i.e. my self and 2 family members while applying for EWS application. I have mentioned total income of my family based on ITR Receipt Acknowledgement (showing net income after all exemptions and deductions) which was less than 8 lac. Then I got EWS certificate.
Later I found that "Gross annual income" of family was to be considered, hence I doubted because If "Gross salary" i.e. even before deducting standard deduction of 50000, was to be taken then total income was more than 8 lac. However if we take "Gross total income" which is mentioned later in the ITR computation and is computed by totalling of all heads of income i.e. "Gross Salary" less standard deduction, Business income etc) then it is again "less than 8 lac".
Hence I revised and reduced one of my Family member's ITR to be on safe side so that even if Gross salary before any deduction or exemption is to be taken then still the total would be less than 8 lac.
Now my questions are:
1. Does this whole action affects the validity of my EWS certificate?
2. Will the appointing authority (where I will get the job based on basis of EWS) check the revised ITR or the old ITR submitted with the Certifying authority?
3. Should I inform the Certificate issuing authority about the changes in one of the ITRs?
