Compensation

Hello, My name is Afshan, I work for a US based firm in Hyderabad and on the position of a Dy. Manager. Like anyother company, my company has a predefined increment criteria and a certain percentage of Hike is given to employees based on their ratings they achieved after working hard for an year. I was due to get my increment letter in April end and a salary calculating the %hike i recieved for my performance(i.e., Rating EE meaning exceeding expectation). However on 30th I was told that company has decided to hold my Increment for now and its under review and might take a week or 2. Upon asking the reason, I was not given any reason but the name of the person who took the decision to put it on hold. However to my surprise i recieved my letter the same evening with a rating "Exceeding Expectation" which is the top rating but with zero increment. I questioned the management on this and they shrugged their shoulders saying, it was the decision of newly moved director who works from Chicago and has taken over our india operations. To my utter shock this person is my Ex boss from 2018 and due to his ill behavior with me that year, I had raised a work place harrassment complaint on him. I couldnot think of anything other than descrimination being one reason and retaliation being another to put a hold on my increment which i earned for my hardwork. However, i reached out to the MD of my company to seek clarity and he urged me to wait for some time. I waited for more than 2 weeks now and i have no update from the management on my revised increment letter. Please note, under 3 circumstances i would have considered this decision fair. 1. If the call was taken for complete organisation and increment not given to anybody on cost cutting grounds, but I am the odd one out from my Business unit and rest everybody got their increments. 2. Had i been paying bomb - a review of my performance before releasing the letter is understandable. But my pay doesnt even match the internal parity of company which is acknowledged by my managers and HR herself. 3. Had i been a bad performer - But I am a critical resourse for the business unit i work for and have receieved the top rating for my work. Besides, i am also a part of critical transitions currently which is helping the company cut their cost in dollar value. ** unfortuantely the decision is not making any sense and till now i have no update from the management, this has not only put my morale down but also has put my mental and physical health in Jeopardy. I am in urgent need of an advise, kindly help!!!
