Transfer of shares

I had purchased shares of a company in 1992 thereafter I shifted my house and may be in shifting the shares would have got misplaced, I could not keep the track of those shares, recently I got to know that those shares are still standing in my name and has got transferred to IEPF, I asked company to issue duplicate shares, the company said that the shares has been lodged by a tranferee with transfer deed and shares certificates, but the company had not transferred the shares to his name, and asked me to settle the matter mutually (means company asked me to provide a settlement deed) or provide injuction in my favour. The company also sent me the photo copy of transfer deed which shows that the transferee extended the validity of the deed in 1998 for one year, but I don't know when he lodged the transfer deed. If he had lodged the deed in 1999 and still the company did not transfer shares to him which means I think he is time barred under section 58 of CA and also he had never appealed in the competent authority with the knowledge that thae company refused to transfer the shares in his name. He is also not compromising the matter with me. What should I do in these circumstances?
