Contribution towards the installation of a new lift in 3 floor society building apartment

Dear All, Thanks for your prompt reply and advice. I am a resident in an apartment building of a co-operative society in east Delhi. My flat is at the first floor of the 3 story tower in the society. Each floor is divided into 6 flats whereas a group of 3 flats per floor has a separate entry then the other three. During the early pandemic in 2020 the occupants of the 3 flats of 3rd floor, 3 of 2nd floor and 2 of 1st floor decided to get a lift installed in the building by voluntarily contributing towards the expenses of the purchase and installation. (Please note - the co-operative society is not doing any beautification or otherwise work in 3 story buildings under any resolution passed by the members in majority during any AGM, EGM or any other meeting(s)). This was something decided by few of the flat owners, which gets pass-on to the others and to which all agreed to, resulting installation of the lift. The money was collected from the flat owners and was paid to the vendor by the society office. The scenario here is - Since I reside on the 1st floor and there are merely 15 stairs for me to climb from the ground to reach my flat, I disapprove the installation and did not contributed to it as it is utter useless for me to have a lift installed for such a short distance. Now, the society is forcing me to pay my share of the money for the lift before me doing repairs to my flat (which are needed badly to keep it livable). Do the society has power to do so? Is there a way for me to avoid such expenses forced on me due to the whims and fancies of few others? Please be generous and help me out to resolve the situation in my favor. All my thanks and best wishes to you all for your support.
