Unfair selection in faculty recruitment process

Dear Sir, I was an applicant for Assistant Professor post in Chemical Engg. dept. of MANIT, Bhopal. The interview was on 30th JAN 2020. The results were out one week back. I was shocked to find the results, because a person with much much less experiences than me was selected for the post, even though my interview was good. Informally, i found out that, they have only "general cateogry' vacancy and hence they took the other candidate, who belongs to general category, whereas i belong to SC community. But I feel this is Unfair and discriminatory, because even though the SC candidate has a superior proflle, NIT did not want to fill the General position with a SC candidate One more point is, the selected candidate, currently is in Grade Pay 6000 and he was directly selected to grade pay 8000, (like double promotion), whereas i am currently in Grade pay 8000 and still i was not considered for the position of grade pay 8000. Profile differeences: I have a teaching experience of 8 years, selected candidate has only 5 years teaching experience, I have 4 years post doctoal experience, he has none; I have major research projects, he has less; I have 17 international journal papers, he has less than 10 papers; SO in every way he has less experiences and less profile than me, but still they selected him and not me, only because of category reason. CAN I PUT a LEGAL CASE againt NIT on this issue?? If i put, will there be any use for me ?? Also, Can i put the case without my personal presence in court ?? I ask this because, I am basically from Ranchi, whereas the case has to be put in BHOPAl high court, i may not be able to travel many times.
