No Paid Leaves in company
Hi,
I recently started working in Pune based IT company with around 100+ employees. Company policy says the following:
People working in morning shift get 1 paid leave per month. They get only 1st and 3rd Saturday off (apart from Sunday's).
People working in other shifts get all Saturdays and Sundays off but there are zero paid leaves apart from these weekly offs. No CL, no EL, no medical leaves.
My question is:
1. Is this legal?
2. Is there any exception to the Bombay Shop and Establishments act which makes this legal?
3. What is the employee course of action in case this is not legal?
There are people who have been working with the company for upto 8-10 years without paid leave. Is there any compensation which the company owes these people (as per the law)?
Looking forward to understand how employees can take this further.
