Regarding : A labour was drunk and got hurt while working at my home

Hi Sir/Madam, Last month my parents called upon a known worker to our home for fixing water pipes. That day he was completly drunk. My mother and brother suggested him to go away and not to work since he was drunk. But that worker went upto to third floor to see the issue as he wanted money to drink again. My parents scolded him and asked him to go back home. After some time when my brother called on worker mobile, it was not reachable. When he went up and saw from top of 2nd floor that worker had fell down. My brother immediatley called up ambulance and admitted him to hospital. We spent some money for hospital and personally gave some money to Workers wife. Now the worker is doing good in hospital. But now the wokers wife is asking us to give entire amount that they have spent for hospital(2lakhs). The worker has severe drinking problem, I feel that asking us entire money is illegal as it was completly worker fault. Even the hospital report told that worker was completly drunk at the time he was admitted to hospital. Could you kindly suggest what should be our next move in gettin this issue resolved.
