Service Agreement
I work for an IT company which made me sign a service agreement before I travelled to Canada on a business visa during Jan 2019. The agreement says that company is sponsoring my training cost and hence I shall have to pay 4 Lakh rupees if I leave the company before completion of 1 year from the day training was started. After 6 months from the training date, I have resigned and now the company is asking for 4 lakhs.
I am denying the money on the basis that I travelled on a business visa and attended only business meeting and did not took any process or work based training. The port of entry letter which was given to me by the company's immigration team clearly says that I am being sent for attending business meetings.
I checked with the company's immigration team and they have also confirmed that transition or work related trainings are not allowed on business visa.
In this case, if I initiate legal proceedings, what are the chances of my winning? Currently it is trying to hold my releiving letter.
