Making a case for Wrongful Termination
Hi,
I was employed at a startup - starting 28th January, 2019, as a Talent Acquisition professional.
I am jotting down events in order they happened:
1. I was given 1 Tech role with 3 positions to complete
2. In 1.5 months, 2 candidates joined
3. I was asked to focus on only 1 more position.
4. I was specifically not given any other role to work with, by the founders.
5. After the completion of almost 2 months - 20th March, 2019, I was called for a meeting and given (mailed) a termination notice
6. There was no written / verbal warning of non-performance
7. The options - One month working and one month severance or 2 months working
8. I served one month of Notice Period and mailed the founders on 26th April 2019 requesting one month severance pay, citing hectic interview schedules and not being able to devote time for work.
9. There is no response from their end regarding that.
10. Last they forced me to work till I closed the other role. They refrained me from attending any interviews in the working hours, which is not possible.
They haven't even paid me for the month of April 2019.
This has put me under immense pressure to find a job and not getting paid for the work I have done, besides the wrongful termination.
Kindly suggest how should I go about this event.
