Death of employee on company tour
Dear Sir,
My spouse aged 39 years working for a MNC IT company (for 12 years with the same company)was on official tour in a Hilly area with her official team .
During tour she suffered breathless, the Doctors were called in ten minutes to revive her .However by the time the doctors could reach she passed away in a span of ten minutes and efforts to revive her failed .
She is survived by her Husband and 9 year old school going daughter . She was never hospitalised for any ailment during her course of employment (apart from maternity delivery) nor was she suffering from High blood pressure or high sugar .
She was completely healthy.
The employer has sent following Forms to family
1) Group Death claim Form
2) Form 20 PF
3) Form 10 D Pension Form
Are the family members entitled to a compensation claim from the employer (since the untimely demise has happened in course of discharging her duties) , apart from the three above mentioned payouts?
The Final post mortem report mentions "death due to asphyxiation" , death certificate and panchanama are received.
The police has also closed the case.
Is it a medico legal case ?
