Police verification for passport.... police creating issues....
I had applied for renewal of passport in 2013. Since my parents are old and need support i stay with them most of the time. I visit my husbands place as when needed. In 2013 when I told the police that this is an arrangement within our family he was not convinced... he wanted me to say that I do not live with my parents. When I told him that the truth is I stay with my parents and my husband has no issues with it why is the police worried, he sent an adverse report to the passport office stating that my mother's name was recorded in my birth certificate with father's surname and i had not mentioned it in the application form. I did not know of this report as he asked me to sign a blank form at the police station. After receiving a SCN from the passport office in 2015 for clarification of the point i learned about it and went to the passport office with my mothers passport, pan card and all other documents where her name is just R Lalitha and and does not have a Rao and hence my birth certificate has an error. The passport office sent it for reverification. Now the police have the same issue -they are not convinced that I live with my parents even after my husband has given a letter saying that I stay with my parents and this is a personal arrangement and we are not obliged to inform anybody like our neighbours about this arrangement. Now he wants me to sign a blank form. I want to know that 1) if it is a confidential report that he will send why is my signature needed 2) if the form requires my signature then can I refuse to sign if I am not OK with the information filled in the form.
