Misappropriation of premiums
Complaint Description : Dear Sir/Madam, I have a term plan of HDFC Life Insurance (Policy Number 19824352) having premium frequency monthly i.e. 5th of every month with a grace period of 15 days. There are total three system in this loop: 1st HDFC Bank, 2nd Billdesk payment gateway and 3rd HDFC Life Insurance. My date of commencement of a term policy is 5th December 2017. I have added this policy to pay premium automatically on Billpay by HDFC Netbanking. This worked till October 2018. My last premium i.e. November 2018 has not been deducted from Billpay even there was a sufficient balance in my account. I had visited HDFC Life branch (3rd Flr, Pelican Bldg, Gotri Rd, Vadodara, Gujarat 390007) on 24th November 2018 and explained issue, he suggested to pay online by self on mentioned HDFC link and paid premium with Transaction ID: HDFC5844143 of November 2018. Further, I submitted all relevant NACH details to avoid these type of future disturbances. I got receipt of paid premium on 27th November 2018 (Receipt date 26th November 2018), but on same date, I was seen mail related to intimation of lapsation and revival quotation and I felt suddenly shocked. I visited HDFC Life customer portal online to see policy status and the status was “In Force” on 27th November 2018. I was relax and captured screenshot for evidence record. I wrote a mail on [deleted] to resolve this issue, but till today, they are not giving me proper resolution for the same. In Addition, I wrote to HDFC life insurance that,”I will pay next premium when my I get proper justification from your side i.e. HDFC Life Insurance.” In last, my term plan policy has lapsed due to system error from them side and they forcing to pay extra amount to continue policy contract. My Complaints are: To HDFC Bank and Billdask, 1) My term plan policy premium was not deducted on time even there was sufficient balance in my respective account and due to this system error from Billdesk, my policy has lapsed. To HDFC life Insurance, 1) Policy status on 27th November 2018 on HDFC customer portal was “In Force” and they are pushing to pay extra payment to continue policy contract. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
