Call and show cause notice

Dear Lawyer, I am an IT professional currently working in abroad and married. Recently, I have ordered an online item to use as a method of contraception(as part of family planning) purely for my personal use only for my address in India . The item has been held by customs upon arrival in India and issued a CALL and SHOW cause notice for me mentioning that the imported product falls under OBSENE category which is prohibited as per law and liable for absolute confiscation. They gave me 10 days to show up for the cause at their Mumbai office. I followed this forum for the similar cases and wrote an email to '[deleted]' (mentioned on the notice) as below: >>> Dear Sir I have received a call and show cause notice for the order with tracking no. RYXXXXXXXCN. Kindly, find my below declaration related to this parcel. 1) I have ordered this product only to use as a method of contraception(as part of family planning) and purely for my personal use only. 2) I have no objection if the parcel is absolutely confiscated as I was not aware of the fact that import of this product is prohibited in India else I could not have placed the order in the first place. 3) Since the product has been ordered purely for my personal use - I kindly, request you to please take a lenient view towards this issue and impose no penalty on me. 4) Currently, I am working in abroad and pleading you that I don't want any personal hearing for this issue. Please consider my sincere apologies for this whole issue and excuse me for everything. Thanks <<<< I did not got any reply from them since 4 days and also tried calling the number mentioned on the notice. All my trails to address the issue seems to be not working. I understand the issue is very serious and I want to get rid of this issue soon as I was not sincerely aware of ordering such products is an illegal in India. Thanks, Chand
