Illegal Performance Improvement Plan to Terminate my Services

Hi Team I am Currently working for a mnc bank as an Assistant Vice President . I got promoted to this position and a new team in June 2017. We as an organisation have a performance cycle from Jan to October 30th. In my mid year appraisal that is June 2017 I got a Meets Expectation rating to which I had no issues. On June 21st 2017 I met with an accident and fractured my left hand. This team I had joined on June 1st 2017 was in transition and had nothing in place. All training’s were planned on calls. I being the leader started on building a capacity plan which I had shared with my partner. But due to my accident I couldn’t further work on it physically hence explained and delegated it to my reportee.Similarly I put in place a training plan which I had developed couple of years back in my old team. The same had to be customised for this process, but due to my injury I delegated it to my reportee.Similarly I worked on building a reporting template for the business. I couldn’t work on my process physically due to my injury for 2 months. After a couple of months when I was on a business call I fumbled with my numbers for which I was given feedback and immediately my reportees were asked to join the call to cover for me. Due to my injury my travel to Office was restricted hence I had to depend on someone to drop me to work. My login was 1pm to 10 pm but o used to login at 11am as I did had to depend on someone. During this time my sleep cycle was hit and at time I dozed off at work. This feedback was given to me later by my manager for which I worked on. Thereafter my confidence hit a low. On one of the leaders visit in October my manager was given feedback that the leaders was not happy with the management in India for which the feedback given to me that I better look out for a job. For which I thought my manager was being reactive and that I shouldn’t take him seriously. During my one on one in December my manager told me to lookout or else it would be difficult to work in the organisation.Hence I asked him if I could apply internally and also asked my rating so that it would not be a hinderance. To which I was told it was meets expectations for then and it could change. This discussion was in Dec 2017. I based on this applied for the role but then was not selected due to my rating as it was Low meets and based on my eligibility as it was only 6 months and I was new to the role. Now my manager has put me on PIP (Performance improvement Plan) and also told me to look out for a job as even if I try to work on My PIP the management would not agree to keep me.In my pip he has also added about y sleeping issue ( the July incident) and now wants to give me warning letter for that.I am all confused and disturbed by this as I feel I have been targeted.Since I was only 5 months into the role and that my rating was bad which ideally should have been Meets expectation as I was new to the role. Now my job is at stake can I take legal action
