Tenancy Right to rented property being demolished due to road widening

My mother is living in a rented house for past many years, the house was rented from the time of my great grandfather around 70 / 80 years ago. it is a one story structure housing 7/8 tenants both on the ground floor and the 1st floor, our house is on the first floor From that time till date we are regularly paying rent to the landlord. Recently due to the reason of road widening of the highway the house is to be demolished by the pune municipal corporation for which the PMC gave notice to the land lord who in-turn informed all the tenants to vacate the property in 2 months. though the land is being used for road widening a large part of the land will be still vacant, but as the structure is in the frontal side the entire structure has to be demolished as part structure cannot be demolished. When asked with the land lord for compensation he has replied that as the land is going for road widening he himself is not getting anything so cannot give any compensation. He also stated that the PMC may provide alternate staying arrangements later.
