Adverse Police Verification Report

Dear Sir, I need to recently visit out of India for Official Tour for which I got my passport under tatkaal scheme. I got my passport within 3 days. However few days later I got a message (paid message service by Passport authority) (no mail or letter) that Police has filed an adverse report for my current address eventhough no police verification was actually done as no one visited my house and no phone call came to me( I asked my neighbours even). What should do I do in this case as I need to urgently travel outside for 15 days. On talking to Regional Passport Office, they are asking me to visit the passport office but i am afraid that they may not impound my passport which may stake my travelling abroad. ?The most probable reason according to me for adverse police verication may be that my place's district has recently changed but all my documents has previous mentioned district name which I have mentioned on my Paspport address. This can only a probable reason but not confirmed. Could my passport be impounded during check-in....Pls help...
