Comensation

Respected Sir, I am working as a HR professional in a company. In our company there was an employee who died in the month of February'2017. He was present in our showroom on the date of his death. During lunch hours he went out of showroom to have his lunch and met with accident. He was taken to hospital by company staff, expense were paid from company end, but unfortunately he did not survive. We have cleared all his dues to his legal heir- his wife...and she accepted the cheque from our end and gave us a declaration that there is no dues pending from company's end. We have also processed his Provident fund death claim. Now his family is making demand to provide a job to his son and also asking for some monetary benefit. Our company do not have any policy to provide job to to legal heir on account of death or to provide any monetary help. In this scenario, they are continuously threatening our local company representative. I want to know whether a company is legally bound to provide a job or monetary help. Kindly suggest.......... Thanks & Regards, S Mitra
