Consumer case against LIC

Background: My mother has taken this policy from LIC agent Lt Sunil Dua, somewhere in Oct-Dec 2011. My mother got expired on 27/Jan/2014, and I have submitted the documents to LIC agent at his residential address at Kanpur in Apr 2014. I have provided him necessary claim and medical documents asked by him for the claim process. I was inquiring about my claim status after the documents were submitted by him. He also got expired in Apr 2015 and since then I am following up LIC branch office through emails and phone without much luck. Issue: LIC has taken their own sweet time to work on this case. I believe, as per IRDA guideline, death claim with investigation has to be sorted in 6 months. During follow up for this policy, I came to know, that LIC agent has submitted some false document that my mother was working in some college in Ghaziabad. She has never worked in any college nor have we provided any documents. The same I have communicated back to LIC office few months back. Other LIC policies under her name doesn’t have any reference that is she is working in any college. It is clear that LIC agent has provided wrong documents by himself to issue the policy. The proposal form was filled by Agent and we are not sure, what all documents were submitted by Agent in Kanpur. Some Other Facts related to policy: This is open and known fact to that entire how the application forms is filled. Applicant normally signs the form and details are entered by agent. No verification was done when policy was issued to my mother. Ideally, some kind of verification should be done at the time of giving policy. I believe, agent has provided wrong proof of teaching to pass the policy without any medical examination of customer. It is mentioned in the document that my mother is working from 2001 but we were living in Agra during that time. We shifted to Ghaziabad in 2007. This fact clearly shows wrong documents were submitted by LIC Agent. I am highly dis-satisfied with the response and treatment I have received from LIC. I have been following up with them from more than 2.5 years but no one responded properly and taken any sort of responsibility. I went especially from Ghaziabad to Kanpur in Apr 2015, to inquire claim status after the death of LIC agent. It was simply said, this is closing time come after 10-15 days without understanding the pain that I have come up for this purpose only from Ghaziabad. My father is suffering from paralysis who is claimant in this case and LIC has given me so much pain on top of that. Request you to please advice me what can be done in this case. Thanks, Vineet
