Owner cutting unnecessary amount from the security deposit

We are 2 girls staying in a flat in Magarpatta City, Pune for around 1.5 years. Our flat owner gave us official notice to vacate their flat on 23 April,17 with one month notice period as they were returning back from the U.S. The mutually decided date of vacating the house was 01 June, 17. On 30 May they planned a house inspection to the flat for the same. We have vacated the flat on 01 June with cleaning and stuff done with the help of our house maid (paying her extra money). All the appliances/fittings in the house were handed over in working condition to the owner. The only issue was, one of the walls in the children bedroom got dampness. We discovered this during April as the room was closed for around 3 months as I was out of India. We called a plumber then to look into the issue but he couldnt help as fixed wardrobes were attached to this wall and it was not possible to remove the wardrobe. Accordingly we did not inform the owner at that time as it would been not possible to do something about it sitting in U.S. The wall gradually started drying after few days, only the paint is slightly coming off as it was damp. We also callled the Magarpatta CIty maintainance people to visit the house and catch the root cause. After their visit, they checked the flat excatly above our flat and found out that it was a leakage from their hand shower in their bathroom which led to the dampness in the below flat. The maintanance person asked them to get it repaired and did it accordingly. Also, the maintanance engineer clearly told us that no waterproofing is required on the wall as the source of the leakage has been closed and will not occur in future. Now when our owner visited the flat for inspection, they are of the opinion that they want waterproofing to be done still, reason being that Asian paints will not give them guarantee of 5 years if they get the painting done on the wall without waterproofing. And they are cutting the cost of the waterproofing from our security deposit. Also, they want deep cleaning of the house to be done inspite of we getting the entire house cleaned by our maid and again cutting the cleaning charges from our security deposit. So now my question is - leakeage was form the flat above (not our fault) and even that has been repaired now then why should we be liable to pay the waterprooofing amount. Also, before vacating we got the house cleaned, then also they want us to pay the charges of deep cleaning to be paid by us. Kindly help what can be done in this case and we can get our entire security deposit back.
