Landlord not returning security Deposit of Rs. 14500

Landlord is refusing to return back our security deposit of Rs. 14500. We had to leave his place because it became inhabitable and unhygienic. Water was leaking a lot from the Kitchen walls and ceiling which continued to spread all over the walls and ground. We had to sweep the floors & slab every few hours everyday for more than 15 days. Due to the water dripping from the walls the entire kitchen was covered in fungus which let us not to use it. Also, there was no water coming in the washroom for days. We had informed our landlord and broker since the first time we started to face this issue but they were not able to resolve it for 20 days. After 30 days of misery, we left the place and now landlord is refusing to pay us back our deposit money on the grounds that we did not serve 1 month notice period. But we had to leave because the place was not fit for us to live in. We could not even cook our own meals for more than 13 days and washroom was non-usable as well. I have all the call recordings between my landlord and me as well as the broker as proof.
