Bond agreement with employer.
Hi,
I joined a US based MNC in July 2015, and was posted in Delhi sales region. After joining, i was sent for a 4 month training in the Bangalore head office in Aug 2015 month end, for which i only got an invitation mail and details about the Address and contact person etc from the HR person.
The training commenced on 24 of Aug 2015, a few days passed, and then the HR person came up with Training bond letters in mid of Sept 15. The date mentioned on the letters was 24 aug (back dated) there is no stamp paper used for the agreement, but company letter head were used instead.
we were forcefully asked to sign the bond letters with no prior communication regarding the bond involved in the training - 2 years or 2 lacs.
I moved back to delhi in dec 2015 and resumed my work in delhi office
I resigned from the company on 1 aug 2016 due to health issues and requested the hr to relieve me at the earliest possible. Mean while i again had health issues and then left the job on 22 aug and that was my last working day.
After that the HR has contacting me to pay the bond money of 1.5 lacs asap.
Last week i received a letter from some lawyer appointed from the company side asking me to pay the dues or else they will send me a legal notice.
The training was conducted by employees from the bangalore office and only 5 or 7 times some outside trainer were called.
Also, while on job saturdays were off, but during the training saturday leaves were cancelled.
the company arranged the stay in company guest house and food was paid by us.
can the company take any legal action against me?
