Lied during police verification for PCC

I applied online for police clearance certificate from Delhi from passport sewa. During filling the form online, there was some error which I did not notice. By mistake my martial status was written as married and some random person's name was added in spouse's name. I realised this mistake just before the visit of the police verification officer and thought it might not be a problem as it is just a pcc and not a proper passport application. When the officer came for verification, I said yes I am married when he enquired about martial status. He asked further question about my spouse and I panicked and said she doesn't live here and lives at some other address. To which he asked if I live with her. I said yes and then he asked me to write a letter on a blank page that my permanent residence is this(where the verification took place) and that I am presently staying at a different address. He took the letter and went away. I am actually living at the address where the verification took place but had to tell a different address because I panicked. I don't know what to tell to at the psk or rpo where I will now be called to explain the reason for adverse report. Can someone please help me.
