Is 10th class marksheet compulsary while applying for passport ?

I was born in 1992 and have completed B.E. & M.Tech in Comp. Sci. Engg. and currently working in a Private company for the past 1.5 years. There is a spelling mistake in my 10th certificate in my father's name ("Rakesh Sharma" written as "Raksh Sharma", one alphabet is missing). While filling up passport application, I noticed that for Non-ECR proof, there are different categories under which I qualify : 1. All persons having educational qualifications of matriculation and above 2. All professional Degree holders , their spouses and dependent children. Examples of professional degree holders are Doctors holding MBBS degree or equivalent degree in AYURVED or HOMEOPATHY, accredited Journalists, Engineers 3. Income-Tax payers (including Agricultural Income-Tax payees) in their individual capacity Is it ok/allowed to only provide my Engineering degree certificate for verification and not 10th class certificate (as it has spelling mistake). If 10th class certificate is mandatory, should an affidavit be enough to apply for passport ?
