You must be having prescription prescribed by your doctor for arthritis

2) obtain second medical medical opinion that medicine prescribed to you was cause of leukaemia

3) file complaint against doctor before consumer forum and seek reimbursement d expenses incurred by you for chemo therapy

4) also seek litigation costs and compensation for mental torture undergone by you

5) also complain to MCI against the said doctor

Orencia is a medicine used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis. It is also used to prevent acute graft-versus-host disease in some people undergoing stem cell transplantation. Orencia works by blocking the activity of certain immune cells that cause inflammation and damage to the joints and other tissues.

Orencia can cause serious side effects, such as infections, cancer, liver problems, allergic reactions, and infusion reactions. Some of these side effects can be fatal. Orencia can also interact with other drugs, such as vaccines, biologics, and immunosuppressants.

According to some sources, there have been lawsuits filed against the manufacturer of Orencia, Bristol-Myers Squibb, by people who claimed that they suffered from severe or life-threatening complications after taking the drug. Some of these lawsuits alleged that Orencia caused heart attacks, strokes, heart failure, lung diseases, and blood disorders. Some of these lawsuits also alleged that the company failed to warn the public and the medical community about the risks and dangers of Orencia.

If you believe that you have been harmed by Orencia, you may have a legal right to seek compensation for your damages. You may be able to join a class action lawsuit or file an individual lawsuit against Bristol-Myers Squibb in the US. However, you should be aware that there are time limits and other requirements for filing a lawsuit. You should also be aware that there are risks and costs involved in pursuing a legal action.

Therefore, I suggest that you consult a lawyer who specializes in civil law and drug injury cases as soon as possible.

- As per Section 2 (1) (g) of Consumer Protection Act. , when the medical practitioner fails to maintain the standards of reasonable care or competence then he/she will be held liable for medical negligence, which gives rise to the deficiency in medical service.

- Hence, you can file a complaint before the Consumer Forum against the Doctor or Hospital where you was given Orencia injection and that developed leukemia.

- However, you should arrange medical report with some other doctors as well before staring legal action.

You are free to file a medical negligence claim in the matter.

This can be done by a local lawyer in US. Institute your claim against your treating doctor and the concerned hospital.

Dear Client
Consult an Attorney: Seek the services of an experienced personal injury or product liability attorney in India who specializes in pharmaceutical litigation. They can provide you with legal advice and guide you through the process.

Collect Medical Records: Gather all your medical records, including those related to your arthritis treatment with Orencia, your diagnosis of leukemia, and the subsequent chemotherapy treatment. These documents will be crucial in establishing a connection between the medication and your health issues.

Investigate the Product: Your attorney may conduct an investigation to determine if there are similar cases of adverse reactions to Orencia in India or globally. They will look for evidence that could support your claim.

Establish Causation: To pursue a lawsuit successfully, you must establish a link between Orencia and your development of leukemia. This may involve expert medical testimony to prove that the medication was a substantial factor in causing your condition.

File a Lawsuit: Your attorney will draft a complaint and file a lawsuit against the responsible party, which could be the manufacturer, distributor, or healthcare provider, depending on the circumstances.

Negotiation or Trial: Depending on the strength of your case and the willingness of the other party to settle, your case may go through negotiation, settlement discussions, or proceed to trial.

Compensation: If successful, you may be eligible for compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other damages related to your condition and treatment.
