Packers and Movers not delivering goods
I Booked my House items including important documents for transfer from Chennai to Mumbai via VRL Packers and Movers. I have shifted to Mumbai but have not received goods despite regular follow up. Now VRL has given No. Of their Vendor and asked to me speak directly to their Vendor. Vendor is some other co Swift Relocation. Vendor is not responding and making excuses. I have Invoice in the name of VRL packers Registered Office Hyderabad . Goods were booked in Chennai. Now what legal remedy do I have. Can I file police complaint in Mumbai. I have already raised issue in National Consumer Helpline which is pending as VRL is not responding to them also Please advise legal remedy available to me and also whether I can use it while in Mumbai.

File a complaint against them in consumer court if there is undue delay on their part as it amounts to deficiency of services.
An offence of criminal breach of trust under Section 4407 by carrier is committed. Punishment for same is imprisonment up to seven years. Offence is cognizable and non-bailable. The destination to which goods are consigned and the place of booking of goods both have jurisdiction to accept complaint and register FIR. You can also file a criminal complaint in the Court of Magistrate. A direction will be issued to police to register FIR, investigate, produce the accused in Court and after charge sheet court will convict the accused. Offence is compoundable that is can be compromised by owner of property and carrier. Once FIR is registered things will move fast. You can recover your goods and expenses towards complaint and close the case. Any civil suit or complaint to District Consumer Commission will be time consuming. File complaint against both.

Dear client, I am sorry to hear that but in this case you can you can register an FIR against him.
The Mumbai police may not be able to respond properly to your complaint because you have booked the goods at Chennai and their office is at Hyderabad, besides it is the company against who you will be giving a complaint and not on any individual.
It is advisable that you issue a legal notice to the company and then approach consumer forum with your complaint in writing instead of adopting such online modes because you may not get proper response from the forum or perhaps you are rushing with a hasty conclusion about the consumer forum that there is no response to your complaint within a very short time.
You may have to follow the procedures prescribed for the purpose and patience if important at this juncture.
